Pedal
Price Paid:
120 €
Condition:
New
Features:

On/off switch, Speed control

Ease of Use:
5 (easy)
Pros:

Sound : classic phase sounds at the flick of a switch.

Ease of use : with only one control you might think this pedal is limited but it goes from a subtle, shimmery phaser on the slowest setting to a Univibe like underwater effect on the fastest.

Build quality. Fitted in one of those die cast metal boxes, it will last a lifetime.

Cons:

The standard Phase 90 is not a faithful reissue of the classic pre-Dunlop pedal.
One mod I find indispensable is removing resistor 28 from the circuit, as this causes ugly, unmusical clipping. It's a fairly easy job, but if you don't feel up to it, you'll have to consider the EVH Phase 90. There are also the more expensive reissues but those can only run on battery power.
My rating for sound quality is considering the R28 mod has been done.

In- and output jacks could be sturdier, they lack the reassuring positive click when you insert a cable.

Sound Quality:
5 (excellent)
Customer Support:

No experience.

Reliability:

This pedal has been on my board since I got it in 2003 and it has performed flawlessly.
