You may have heard of this problem. It occurs when you're using multiple mics, on guitars or anything else (it happens on drum tracks all of the time). You put two or more mics on a cab (or whatever intrument) to capture a single performance in the hope of blending the two sounds later to get the best of both mics. But when you listen to the tracks later, they sound fine separately, but they sound thin and awful when they are played together. That is a phasing issue. The two tracks are out of phase with each other. Here's how to recognize it on guitar tracks -- both by sound and by looking at the audio data, AND how to fix it.
