LEGO acoustic - not the sound you expect

Yeah, there's compression and reverb on the recording, but I didn't expect the guitar to produce this kind of sound.

When you see how he's building the guitar in the first few seconds, you get the impression that the body is not exactly hollow or as hollow as you'd expect an acoustic guitar to be. Maybe that, combined with the plastic, gives it that sound?
