Burke Shelley - Budgie R.I.P.

I'm getting better! No, you're not -- you'll be stone dead in a moment.

Burke Shelley - Budgie R.I.P.

Vocalist and bassist Burke Shelley of Welsh metal pioneers Budgie died yesterday at 71. Excellent band, I saw them several times in the early 80s.

Sad news. It seems he had serious ongoing health issues:

I love Budgie, "Never Turn Your Back On A Friend", "In For The Kill" and "Bandolier" are stone cold classics of 70s metal IMO.

Criminally underrated band. They influenced a lot of the guys we worship.

RIP Burke.

And so it begins...

Old Budgie was classic old school stoner metal. Underrated & influential.

RIP Burke

Great Band, always loved em. Wish the original guitarist would have stayed with em. Still have all the albums. Great artwork/covers also.
