Schenker Fest Resurrection
Doesnt begin well with the silly all began
story telling approach Barden applied to Warrior but having gone through a couple of times this opus appears much stronger than the last.
Some decent tunes, particularly Beast in the Shadows, really eerie chord progression and superb Bonnet vocal. Dougie shines on Blood red sky, strong melodic chorus with some Stranger in us all lyrics references, as elsewhere on the album.
On the down side the lead guitar is uninspiring and feels mailed in, as others have said. Worse still is MSs use of the middle pick up position, sounding like Vinnie Moore in places. Not a compliment in any way.
