I've liked Doug since a long time and I'm getting seriously into Norum these days. I really dig these guys live Les Paul tone and I wanna know what do they use, how do they get it?

Aldrich check the DRG interview.
Norum - EMG equipped Les Paul's (late 70's models) into modded JCM800 for KT88 tubes. Dunlop 535Q wah, Boss Digi Delay in the loop... simple as. Young Guitar mag is source here.

Aldrich has been promising an update of the gear section on his site for quite a while now, but it's still the same picture of his Dio rig and lineup of his guitars.
I suspect he has other things on his mind than updating his site wink
And it's better than guys whose "Gear" section consists solely of links towards the manufacturers' site D'oh!

Aren't Aldrich's Marshall's modded by Mark Cameron? One of Cameron's most famous mods is the "Aldrich mod". The name would make sense with Doug's connection.

Correct, but his main number 1 Marshall was modded by Martin Golub. He has 2 main amps which he has used on everything, the other head is the Cameron. He also uses a Furman PQ3.

Seeing that video of Norum in his dressing room warming up reminds me that I am not that great of a guitarist..... futile
