Today is Robin Trower's 65th Birthday. Some Guitar Heros are getting a bit long in the tooth. Happy Birthday Robin!

Are we sure about that date/age?  I thought he was about 70 already.  He was a working musician as early as like 1962.

Pretty Sure he born in 1945, read an article about him saying how he was born just before the end of WW2, I think Robin was 17-18 when he started out, so the timescale would fit.

Yes Sir.
I heard about it on the radio while driving home from work this morning and then looked up his date of birth on the web when I got home. March 9th, 1945.

According to Wikipedia, he's born in 1945, indeed. I agree that Robin looks a bit older. But he's still at the top of his game.  He's definitely one of my 4 or 5 favorite players. Extremely inspired, and inspiring.

His Cornell signature head is a nice piece of gear:

On a sidenote, seeing him live in a rather small venue made me understand the real meaning of "a cranked Plexi"...  his amps obviously go to eleven, at least.

Holy crap! I should have the opportunity to see him once more in October that's hot!   There's a Hot Tuna/ Robin Trower concert announced in the neighborhood.

One of the best shows I ever saw was Robin at the Country Club in Reseda, late 80's.  I was in the 'sweet spot' about 15-20 feet in front of Robin's 3 white Marshalls and it was pure ecstacy.

Happy birthday Robin!
