Sounds like you need the debut self titled Fifth Angel album.

I've got it  thumbs up! I've got Time Will Tell as well. Both are pretty solid albums.

Well none of those bands I listed are anything I can snuggle up to on a daily basis.  There's a certain mood for that sort of thing....
Glad I didn't violate any unwritten rules, though!  stick out tongue

No no it's all right for you to listen to what you want to listen to. It's just Isaac and the rest of our group of friends have always been a little outspoken against the "nu metal" stuff going around.

If you don't know about Helstar, then check them out...they are a cool technical speed-metal band with lots of good riffs and solos. Helstar's "Nosferatu" is a great album.

If you like ARMORED SAINT, I recommend LOCOMOTIVE BREATH.

The new HEATHEN "The Evolution of Chaos" is the best thing they've done since '87.

Agree with some of the suggestions so far esp.  HIGH ON FIRE and VENDETTA.  Throw in HEXX "Under the Spell" while you're at it!

May be it's time to try getting into Celtic Frost? If you end up digging them, the doors are wide open for a few different styles of extreme metal.

I haven't heard too much Nu Metal that I like . hmmm

Two bands with killer riffs and great guitar tone ...THROTTLEROD and DIRTY POWER . I just wish they had better lead guitar playing . Other than that these guys have it down especially in the originality department . I'm tough to please . I can't take cookie monstar vocals and find the guitarists in most popular metal bands...like Lamb of God ...mediocre at best .

I'll take industrial metal fusion anyday over most post 80's metal . The Japanese have some seriously heavy music happening . Devil's Slingshot features Greg Howe . Keyboardist Tadashi Goto has a CD titled Innervisions that features guest guitarists shredding their asses off over some of the fastest , heaviest riffing I've heard in a long time .

John 5 has some cool heavy stuff .

FRAGILE is another Japanese band that will blow your Cd player apart . I have yet to be able to listen to an entire Cd .Way over the topin every department .

I really cannot recommend '80's Slayer too much.

Hell Awaits, Seasons in the Abyss, South of Heaven, but ESPECIALLY Reign in Blood should reside in any thrash collection.  They are required.

Doesn't hurt to throw in Megadeth's Rust In Peace.

Doctor Butcher. Jon Oliva + Caffery ( while under Criss influence )   Great for dissecting guitars, Schenker updated. . .
